Partial view of participants at the LLA/LLAP experience and lessons sharing workshop in MonroviaMonrovia – A three-day Experience and Lessons sharing workshop on a range of land tenure topics, including Land Administration Reforms, Customary Land Rights, Land Administration Systems, and Spatial Planning is being convened at a local hotel in Monrovia. Jointly organized by the Liberia Land Authority (LLA) and the Project Implementation Unit of the Liberia Land Administration Project with support from the World Bank South-South Knowledge Exchange, the workshop is to share knowledge and experiences gained during the implementation of the Ghana Land Administration Project and how best the LLA can ensure the successful implementation of the Liberia Land Administration Project (LLAP). The capacity building workshop delegated for key technical staff of the LLA from within the four departments including Land Administration, Land Use and Management, Policy and Planning and Administration and Customer Services is funded by the World Bank South-South Knowledge Exchange Program in cooperation with the Liberia Land Administration Project (LLAP). The inventory and analysis of tribal land certificates is captured under component two, while components three and four will focus on the development of land administration system and Project coordination, monitoring and evaluation. During the three day-sessions, the participants will be drilled on the Context of Land Tenure and Administration in Ghana as they relate to the Legal and Institutional Arrangements; Overview of the Ghana Land Administration Reforms, Customary Land Administration Interventions and Social Accountability in Ghana as well as Ghana Land Registration System – Processes and Reforms, among others.
