The Supreme Court (SC) will hear on Tuesday, April 10, the oral arguments on the ouster plea filed by Solicitor General Jose Calida against Chief Justice on-leave Maria Lourdes Sereno. Calida earlier filed a quo warranto petition seeking to remove Sereno from office. ADVERTISEMENTIn a quo warranto proceeding, the petitioner challenges the respondent’s right to hold office. The oral arguments are to be held at the SC compound in Baguio City following a request from Sereno’s camp. Being an impeachable official, Sereno stressed that the SC has no jurisdiction over Calida’s quo warranto petition.
