India recorded 1,73,790 new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday, the lowest daily increase in the last 45 days. Saturday also marked the sixteenth consecutive day of daily recoveries outnumbering daily increase in cases, after 2,51,78,011 individuals made a full recovery in the last 24 hours. The health ministry said weekly positivity rate is showing signs of continued decline, and is currently at 9.84%. Daily positivity rate has also come down and was pegged at 8.36% on Saturday, remaining below 10% for the fifth consecutive day. India voiced its support for the probe launched by US President Joe Biden into the origins of Covid-19.
