Kyle Langford's no-ban punishment branded inadequate by top athletics coach

Langford was yesterday reprimanded, fined £1,000 and sentenced to a day of athletics community service - but told he can compete in Saturday’s Anniversary Games. But Toni Minichiello, who coached Jess Ennis-Hill to multiple Olympic and world titles, scoffed: "It’s not a punishment at all quite frankly. I’ve seen somebody slap an official in basketball, not a hard slap more a pat on the face, and be banned for life. “What players and athletes want to do is play and run, so the only punishment is to take that way from them. The guys are running faster and I’m competing against the rest of the world this time so I have to work 10 times harder.”Tickets for the Müller Anniversary Games are on sale at www.theticketfactory.com/british-athletics
