At a press conference in Accra on 2 April 2019, the CID boss said that the police knew the whereabouts of the missing girls and was working towards their rescue. However, in a shocking turnaround, Maame Tiwaa speaking in an interview suggested that they don't know the whereabouts of the girls. Kweku Baako speaking on Joy Newsfile programme said Maame Tiwaa's recent comments rather 'worsens the situation'. Everybody is talking about the CID and I don't want to see a situation where her career is truncated or destroyed"
