Kwankwaso accuses Kano govt of forcing officials to sign defection documents

The leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, has accused the Kano State Government of allegedly forcing state officials and elected local government chairmen to sign documents indicating defection to the All Progressives Congress. Kwankwaso made the allegation in a statement posted on his verified social media platforms, claiming that reports reaching him on the issue were deeply troubling. “I have received several reports—some good and some very terrible—indicating that the Kano State Government is compelling state officials and elected local government chairmen to sign either in support of Gandujiyya or Kwankwasiyya,” he alleged. He used the occasion to thank all supporters of the Kwankwasiyya Movement for their tremendous support and steadfastness. However, when contacted over the allegations, the state Commissioner for Information, Ibrahim Waiya, said there was nothing like that.
