Kuria’s ex-running mate Faith Mwaura defects to UDA, eyes Roysambu seat

Former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria's runningmate in Kiambu's governor race in 2022, Faith Mwaura, has defected to the ruling UDA. Mwaura ditched Kuria's Chama cha Kazi and announced she will be contesting for the Roysambu constituency seat in the 2027 elections on the UDA ticket. Receiving Mwaura at the party's headquarters in Nairobi was UDA national vice chair Kelvin Lunani, who encouraged women to seek elective positions in next year's polls. And on Tuesday, ODM leader Oburu Odinga reiterated the party’s commitment to democratic governance and constitutional change of government. He emphasised the party's belief in democratic processes and constitutional change of government, citing these as the core reasons ODM agreed to work with UDA.
