KUALA LUMPUR: A technical committee will be formed to look into the proposal to deduct 20% of foreign workers’ basic salaries to be parked under Socso. “The money that will be returned to them will include interests,” he said after chairing an NLAC meeting in Parliament here yesterday. Kulasegaran said it would also provide a check and balance against delinquent employers who defaulted paying their foreign workers’ salaries. It still needs to be debated and examined at all angles by the technical committee. “As for the foreign workers, I’m sure they will be represented by the unions,” he added.
