7 hours agoNational Fund for disabled of Kenya board has released over 140 million shillings to institutions across the country. Speaking during the presentation of the cheques and equipment in Embu town, the board of trustee's Vice chairman Peter Nyakiambo urged beneficiaries to ensure that the equipment will be used for intended purposes which is to improve their living standards instead of relying on handouts to survive. Eighty million shillings will be distributed to institutions like schools and technical institutes which cater for people with disabilities while 60 million shillings will purchase equipments for the physically challenged. In Eastern region, twenty two institutions received cheques and equipment worth 7.5 million shillings.
