I’m delighted to announce that Krista Mahr will join Opinion to help helm our international coverage. During her time there, she helped edit Time’s coverage of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, the pandemic, the 2020 presidential election and the Jan. 6 insurrection. Before moving to Washington, Krista reported overseas for 14 years. In New Delhi, she worked as Time’s South Asia bureau chief and Reuters’s South Asia correspondent, covering the war in Afghanistan, the 2015 Nepal earthquake and the ascendency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
