MANILA, Philippines–Actress and television host Kris Aquino filed a counter-affidavit seeking to dismiss two counts of grave threats filed against her by former business partner Nicko Falcis and younger brother Jesus in the Office of the City Prosecutor of Quezon City on Feb. 22. The elder Falcis, the former managing director of Kris C. Aquino Productions, and his lawyer brother lodged the complaint after Aquino made a death threat against the former over the phone on Sept. 27, 2018. Aquino added that the controversial phone call transpired at a “very emotional moment for me”—when she was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. “In the heat of the moment, I said things that I should not have said,” Aquino said. ADVERTISEMENTIt took Falcis over three months to file a complaint, which meant that the former employee was not really threatened, Aquino said.
