He became a party-list MP in the 2007 election before the Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva dissolved the House in 2011. He was born in 1947, the year his grandfather, Field Marshal Pin Choonhavan, staged a coup. Before the 2006 coup, Kraisak was one of those who heavily criticised former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra and spoke on a stage of the People's Democratic Reform Committee.
