“The Bt100-million art festival is funded and engaged in by over 50 governmental and private agencies. “Thailand Biennale”, which will be held under the theme “Edge of the Wonderland”, will feature nearly 60 contemporary artists from 24 countries who have created “site-specific” artworks at seven main islands, beaches and communities. The festival aims to promote the government’s “Pracharat” policy by generating money for locals, boosting tourism and upgrading the Thai contemporary art scene onto the global stage. “We are so excited to be the friendly hosts of this first international art festival in Krabi. The city is upgrading local transportation and safety security by using high technology,” he added.
