VANCOUVER — Two Canadians arrested in China in late 2018 will soon be put on trial, according to a state-run Chinese newspaper. An article in the Global Times newspaper quotes an unnamed source saying authorities are preparing to begin the trials of Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor, charged with crimes “undermining China’s national security” by authorities in China. Crisis Group said it did not have a comment as the only information it has is the Global Times article.
