Korean teacher wanted for fraud arrested in PH


MANILA, Philippines — A Korean teacher wanted for swindling two compatriots in Seoul, South Korea was arrested in the Philippines, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said Sunday. The Korean national, identified as 49-year-old Kim Sang Wook, was arrested last Oct. 15 in Malate, Manila in an operation conducted by the bureau’s Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) following the request of the South Korean Embassy in Manila. The FSU chief, intelligence officer Bobby Raquepo, said that an arrest warrant was issued on Kim by a Korean court, aside from a red notice from the Interpol. BI Commissioner Jaime Morente this warning to foreign fugitives: “We are serious in our drive against undesirable aliens.
