Right behind Brand New, who have been shaping rock for over a decade now, comes Kodak Black, a relative newcomer to the world of hip-hop. This year alone, Black has notched a pair of top three albums, with his just-released Project Baby 2 mixtape stalling in second place. There is a big difference between Brand New’s album and Kodak Black’s mixtape when it comes to how fans accessed the two titles. Kodak Black shifted 50,000 equivalent copies of his latest mixtape, but only 5,000 were pure sales, showing just how popular his music is on streaming sites. Hard rockers Imagine Dragons round out the top tier with their latest, Evolve, which has to settle for tenth place this week.
