Ko undeterred by early setback

Lydia Ko overcomes early misery to climb Evian Championship leaderboard GRAHAM DUNBARSTUART FRANKLIN Lydia Ko of New Zealand tees off on day two of the Evian Championship at Evian Resort Golf Club in France. Kiwi Lydia Ko is eight shots off the pace in the final women's golf major of the season, with a bounce back second round that threatened disaster early. Ko shot a one-under 70 to climb the Evian Championship leaderboard in France, after a double bogey on her second hole of the round, the par four 11th. American world No 5 Lexi Thompson, was in tears on the 18th green and missed the cut by one stroke. American amateur Rachel Heck, who is only 16, made the cut at her second major.
