One Qamrul Islam took the youth, believed to be 20-year old, to Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Friday night, Assistant Sub-Inspector Babul Mia at the hospital's police camp told bdnews24.com. "He has a knife wound on his chest and other wounds inflicted by heavy objects," he added. Referring to Qamrul, ASI Babul said the youth was found in a bloodied state in the Merul Badda portion of the waterbody. He also said the police initially identified the youth as Sirajul Islam from South Badda by using a mobile phone found on him. They would confirm the identity once Sirajul's relatives came to the hospital, he added.
