The encounter left six persons injured in knife attacks by around 10 people. According to Mr. Kirad, Mr. Chamoli’s in-laws also demanded the return of ₹5 lakh they had lent him about a month ago. Jitender Kirad’s brothers, cousin and Mr. Chamoli were rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Centre. While three of Mr. Kirad’s brothers and cousin were discharged, Mr. Chamoli and Vishvender are in the ICU. Mr. Chamoli’s father-in-law Chandrabhaan and his brothers-in-law Mukesh, Narender and Kartar have been arrested.
