The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski was the first to report that New York Knicks center Joakim Noah is facing a 20-game suspension after testing positive for an over-the-counter supplement that is banned under the NBA’s outgoing collective bargaining agreement. According to ESPN’s Marc Spears, Noah would not have been penalized under the league’s new CBA that will begin next season. It’s unclear what drug was found in Noah’s system, but as you can see, the list of substances prohibited under the outgoing CBA is lengthy. According to Wojnarowski, an NBA Players Association probe found that that Noah didn’t “knowingly or willingly” violate the league’s drug policy and that he cooperated fully with the league’s investigation. In his first season with the Knicks after nine with the Chicago Bulls, the 32-year-old Noah was averaging just five points and 8.8 rebounds per game when he went down with the injury.
