BRATISLAVA, Slovakia (AP) " Slovakia's tennis federation has punished two players, Martin Klizan and Lukas Lacko, for refusing to play in a Davis Cup playoff series at Australia because of injuries. The federation says it has not accepted their apology because they each played in tournaments one day after the series. Klizan, ranked 33rd, has been fined 20,000 euros ($22,400), while Lacko, ranked 110th, has been fined 10,000 euros ($11,200) for a breach of their contracts with the federation. The players also received a suspended one-year ban from the Davis Cup team that will begin if they again refuse to play. Slovakia failed to advance from the playoff for the third consecutive year.
