Four New Zealanders have been named among the prestigious Forbes 30 under 30 Asia list for social impact, recognising influential young leaders, advocates and entrepreneurs across the globe. There were more than 4000 nominees for the 2022 list, and 22 countries are represented. Stuff Justice Minister Kris Faafoi announced the Government's intentions to criminalise conversion therapy, in an effort to ban the practice, at a press conference held in Auckland on Friday, July 30. The other Aucklander named on the list, Shaneel Lal, gained notoriety through spearheading the campaign that led to New Zealand banning conversion therapy earlier this year. Lal grew up in Fiji, but founded Conversion Therapy Action Group after moving to New Zealand as a teenager.
