Michael Franks, chief executive of Seeka, the country's biggest kiwifruit grower says the start-up would enable it to better manage its orchards by providing accurate pre-harvest fruit volume estimation. New Zealand's largest kiwifruit grower, Seeka, has made a $2.6 million investment in agritech business Fruitometry. He spent 17 years on the Emirates Team New Zealand design team putting his computer knowledge to good use. Seeka chief executive Michael Franks said the start-up would enable it to better manage its orchards by providing accurate pre-harvest fruit volume estimation. Seeka is based in Te Puke and grows avocado, kiwifruit and kiwiberries, as well as a variety of fruit in Australia.
