Award-winning opera singer Jonathan Lemalu will be performing in two Christchurch concerts in June. Grammy-winning opera singer Jonathan Lemalu has returned to New Zealand to perform after a “harrowing” year in which him and his family caught Covid-19, he lost 14 months of work and even considered leaving the profession. His wife, opera singer Sandra Martinovic, developed pneumonia and he had to call paramedics because she was struggling to breathe. But, once they had recovered, he had to endure losing 14 months of work at opera houses around the world to cancellations and postponement. Patrick Hamilton Lemalu performing in Nelson in 2008.
