The event was held at one of Accra's top restaurants, a sushi bar called Monsoon owned and run by Kiwi Steve Moncrieff. New Zealand has had a temporary special representative in Ghana, Charles Kingston, who has been travelling around the region to deepen relations between New Zealand and West Africa. On the plane from Nelson to Auckland, the first leg of my journey back to Ghana two weeks ago, I nearly cried.
