Kiwi Regional Airlines scheduled services between Hamilton and Nelson, Tauranga and Nelson, and Nelson and Dunedin will end on July 30. Kiwi Regional Airlines' decision to call it quits less than a year of flying comes as no surprise to an industry commentator. The gap in the market left by Kiwi Regional opened opportunities for existing regional operators looking at moving into marginal routes, she said. Kiwi Regional would run Air Chathams' Whanganui to Auckland service using Kiwi Regional's air operating certificate until Air Chathams could move the Saab to its own certificate.
