Katie Sadleir is leaving World Rugby after being involved in the women’s game for the organisation since 2016. New Zealander Katie Sadleir is leaving World Rugby to become chief executive of the Commonwealth Games Federation. At World Rugby Sadleir, 57, collaborated with unions and regions to develop the 2017-25 women’s strategic plan to accelerate the global development of women’s rugby and women in rugby at all levels, both on and off the pitch, within the sport. World Rugby Chief Executive Alan Gilpin said: “World Rugby would like to wish Katie every success in her exciting appointment as chief executive of the Commonwealth Games Federation, a close partner of rugby. “As I move to take on this new global leadership role I am extremely excited about the potential of the Commonwealth Sport movement.
