Kiwi Israel Adesanya to make UFC debut in PerthJACKSON THOMAS/STUFF Nigerian-born Kiwi fighter Israel Adesanya will face Australian Rob Wilkinson in the octagon in February. New Zealand has a new fighter in the UFC after Israel Adesanya was finally signed by the world's biggest mixed martial arts promotion. Currently in Las Vegas to help City Kickboxing team-mate Dan Hooker prepare for his bout against Marc Diakiese at UFC 219 on Sunday (NZT), Adesanya also used the trip to meet with UFC officials. On Friday it was announced the Nigerian-born Kiwi (11-0) would make his promotional debut against Australian middleweight Rob Wilkinson (11-1) at UFC 221 in Perth on February 11. Adesanya now meets Wilkinson, 25, who suffered the first loss of his career in his UFC debut in September, a second TKO defeat against Siyar Bahadurzada.
