(File photo)Patrons of a New Plymouth bar had to leave early after a deep fryer caught fire. Fire and Emergency New Zealand were called to Crowded House Bar and Eatery around 1am on Sunday. Co-owner Doc van Praagh said a deep fryer caught fire when staff were trying to make customers some hot chips. The restaurant would be open as usual on Sunday, with a temporary deep fryer in place.
