Kisumu police boss promoted one week after deadly protests

Taking Njiri's place in Kisumu is current Mwea East OCPD Titus Yoma, while Athi River OCPD Kizito Mutoro is being transferred to Mwea East in the same capacity. Kisumu County police commander Nelson Njiri has been promoted one week after a protester was shot dead under his watch in the lake-side city. The protester was shot dead in Kisumu last Monday during demonstrations calling for the removal of IEBC commissioners . Njiri has been moved to the Kenya Airports Authority as the General Manager in charge of security. An autopsy report, however, shows that Otieno was shot at close range.
