Kisii traders protest as kiosks pulled down

By BENSON AYIENDAMore by this AuthorTraders in Kisii town were yesterday counting losses after their kiosks were demolished by the county government to pave way for construction of modern structures. Traders on Sansora, Zonic and Family Bank streets said they lost goods worth millions of shillings. Traffic in the town was disrupted for hours as the more than 200 small-scale traders protested on Sansora Street. However, Lands and Urban Development executive Moses Onderi told Nation the county government would ensure all the affected traders are relocated. “I have received their grievances and will ensure they have alternative locations for business as we plan the town,” Mr Onderi said.
