Governor James Ongwae on Thursday ordered that all buildings in Kisii town be painted before Mashujaa Day celebrations on October 20. He said the event to be held in Gusii Stadium will put the region on the world map, hence the need for a facelift. Ongwae directed that buildings that face the stadium be painted first, warning that action will be taken against those who fail to comply. “I am issuing an executive order to owners of buildings in Kisii town to move with speed and paint them before Mashujaa Day celebrations, which will be held at the Gusii Stadium on October 20,” Ongwae said in his office. The governor said his administration has prepared well to host the event, noting that the stadium has been completed to a high standard.
