It is unlike any film that Kishore Kumar had starred in (barring probably Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Musafir). As Kishore Kumar narrated in his now-cult interview with Pritish Nandy, ‘It started with an audience of 10 people in Alankar. Aslam (Kishore Kumar) is serving a term in this jail set in the middle of inhospitable mountainous terrain. Unfortunately, Kishore Kumar passed away while the film was in production and it was Amit Kumar who completed it. The composer in Kishore Kumar could not have asked for a better album to bid adieu.
