Kishore Biyani, CEO, Future Group, has often stirred the hornet’s nest by questioning the future of the e-commerce industry in India While the businessman admits that his views on technology have changed over the years, he still isn’t completely convinced. “I believe that all the innovation or creation in the group is constantly happening and it’s been happening for years,” Biyani said at a business academia conclave in Mumbai recently. I think for the longevity of an organisation, you’ll have to adapt to all the new things happening around you. [But] I still believe that e-commerce won’t survive in India.”Biyani said he was a big believer in startups. I think technology is a product that will be available off the shelves, but it’s not something that excites us.
