On Friday, May 19, images circulated on social media showing the woman, reportedly deaf-mute, naked inside the matatu, which plies the Nairobi-Meru route. Kenyans had petitioned the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) to deregister the matatu involved in the incident.
