Galileo Gerard Kintanar Jr. has been tapped by President Rodrigo Duterte to take over the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said. In a news conference, Lorenzana said Kintanar accepted the President’s offer after stepping down as commanding general of the Air Force. He was replaced by Lt. Gen. Rozzano Briguez, commander of the Western Command based in Palawan. Kintanar was supposed to retire in January 2020. Kintanar is a member of the Philippine Military Academy “Sandiwa” Class of 1985, while Briguez came from the “Sinagtala” Class of 1986.
