Los Angeles Kings defenseman Kurtis MacDermid will have a hearing with the NHL on Friday following a hit to the head against the Philadelphia Flyers’ Ivan Provorov. The play in question happened during the second period in the Kings’ 5-3 victory over the Flyers on Tuesday. MacDermid backed into a charging Provorov while in the neutral zone. MacDermid ended up over the boards and on the Flyers’ bench after the hit. MacDermid has played in 26 games for the Kings this season with 29 penalty minutes over 13:08 of ice time per game.
