On a stormy Friday, the Sacramento Kings and Los Angeles Clippers put on an offensive show for the ages, combining for 351 points and the second-highest scoring game in NBA history. The Kings emerged with the 176-175 victory in two overtimes, spoiling Russell Westbrook’s debut with the Clippers. The previous record for the second-highest scoring game was 337 points, achieved by the San Antonio Spurs in a 1982 win over the Milwaukee Bucks. Kings guard Malik Monk led the scoring with 45 points and De’Aaron Fox added 42. While Los Angeles connected on 26 three-pointers, the Kings set a franchise-record by scoring 88 points in the paint.
