KUANTAN: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has praised M. Kamala, who came to his attention following reports that she had been taking care of her ailing friend. This prompted Al-Sultan Abdullah to make a personal donation to Kamala as reported in The Star on Saturday (Sept 5). "His Majesty praises the sincerity and compassion of Kamala, who is willing to lend a hand regardless of background, race or religion. Kamala and Yap were neighbours for some 20 years before their houses were demolished about eight years ago. Kamala thanked Al-Sultan Abdullah for his caring gesture after a representative of the King visited her on Thursday (Sept 3).
