The king told the medical team to provide the highest standard of treatment for every serviceman, using the best equipment and support available, and to report immediately if anything was lacking. Maj Gen Sukchai said particular emphasis was placed on prosthetic arms and legs, with the king giving a clear instruction that the very best options should be sourced globally, based on each injured soldier’s needs and the activities they hope to return to. “Some injured troops may receive multiple prosthetic legs for different purposes — such as one for walking, another for running or physical training, and another for water-based activities, including swimming and diving,” Maj Gen Sukchai said. The aim is to help wounded soldiers return to a life as close to normal as possible — including those who wish to remain in service, particularly personnel from combat and special operations units who want to regain maximum mobility.
