King Mohammed VI received on Monday at the Royal Residence in Salé the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, and hosted a tea party in their honor. King Mohammed VI was accompanied by Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, Prince Moulay Rachid and Princesses Lalla Meryem and Lalla Hasnaa. During the ceremony, the Duke of Sussex handed the Monarch a written message from Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom. Since they landed in Morocco on Saturday, the royal couple had a busy agenda, starting with a meeting with Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, in Rabat Saturday evening. Prince Harry’s father Prince Charles and his wife Camilla had paid a visit to Morocco in 2011 at the invitation of King Mohammed VI.
