King Mohammed VI, of Morocco, has congratulated this Saturday newly crowned King Charles III of the United Kingdom on his coronation, expressing “deep pride” in the ties between Morocco and the UK. The king sent a letter of congratulations to King Charles, as well as the newly crowned Queen Camilla, wishing them “a most prosperous reign, and the people of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland further progress and prosperity,” Morocco’s news agency MAP reported. Some elements of the ceremony, such as the military jet fly-past, had to be scaled back or cut due to weather conditions. The ceremony was attended by Morocco’s Princess Lalla Meryem, who was also at a VIP reception on Friday in London’s Buckingham Palace. King Charles III’s reign began on September 8, 2023, following the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II.
