Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has equated the rising Shakahola deaths to "genocide". Kindiki said Mackenzie was hiding behind the Bible to carry out evil acts that have led to massive deaths of innocent Kenyans. As of Tuesday, 90 bodies had been taken to Malindi Subcounty Hospital morgue. Malindi Subcounty Hospital administrator Said Ali told the Star they had exceeded over 100 bodies, forcing the mortuary attendants to stack several bodies together. Kenya Red Cross Society coast regional coordinator Hassan Musa confirmed the Malindi Subcounty morgue is already full.
