In the future, there will be no demonstrations in the country, announced the Minister of Internal Affairs Kithure Kindiki. Kindiki says violence will never be allowed to take root in the country, citing the violent protests by Azimio's leader, Raila Odinga. Kindiki says regardless of whether Raila and President William Ruto agree, there will be no protests in the country and peace must prevail. Kindiki noted that the promotion of peace is the responsibility of every Kenyan regardless of political or religious position and beliefs. His remarks come as Raila announced September 1 as the starting date for the next phase of the demonstrations if the ongoing talks do not yield the desired results.
