Efforts by Kilifi deputy governor Gideon Saburi to be released on police bond have proven futile. On Sunday, his lawyer Otiende Omollo revealed his frustration as he tried to secure Saburi's release on a police bond. He said he could not understand why his client is being denied police bond. "We have been denied police bond without explanation," said a frustrated Omolo. Saburi is facing a fine of up to Sh30,000 or a jail term of not more than three years.
