There’s been an Alex Gibney documentary, there’s a movie in the works with Jennifer Lawrence and now Kate McKinnon in a Hulu limited series. If we’d been paying this much attention to Theranos while it was around, all of these people would be out of work. One firmly hopes that McKinnon’s project lets her take on Elizabeth Holmes be funny, because it is funny to pretend, as Holmes did, that your voice is an octave lower than it is, for years, so that gullible tech investors will think you’re for real. Giving people inaccurate medical tests is ... less funny. Maybe they’ll punch up those scenes with rimshots or Whoopee cushions or something.
