The Samahang Kickboxing ng Pilipinas (SKP) will make history on Saturday, November 28, as it holds the very first, SKP Online National Musical Forms Championship 2020, where 42 entries compete for honors in four divisions. Kickboxing, a sport that employs both punches and kicks as well as elbow and knee strikes, traditionally do not have forms. The Online National Musical Forms Championship is an initiative of the SKP to keep the sport alive amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The musical [forms competition] is one of the categories promoted in kickboxing,” SKP Secretary General and lawyer Wharton Chan told The Manila Times on Wednesday. So, you’d really see that kickboxing is not just a contact sport, but you also have these physical forms,” he added.
