Interior Principal Secretary, Karanja Kibicho paid a special visit to his former school, Kathaka Primary School, Kirinyaga county with a promise to give the dilapidated institution a facelift. Addressing a gathering at the school on Saturday evening, July 9, Kibicho promised to take it upon himself to build an ablution block for teachers at a cost of over Ksh1 million. Addressing the issue of security during the August 9, general election, Kibicho noted that over 100,000 police officers would be dispatched across all polling stations to maintain order and ensure a smooth process. He noted that the Ministry of Interior would work with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for effective coordination. Kibicho noted that their rivals opted to use such tactics to portray themselves as the ideal leaders to save the nation.
