MANILA, Philippines – Bets from Sarangani Province capitalized on their home field advantage to score big in the Little League Philippine Series Mindanao Regionals over the weekend in Kiamba with Maitum leading the way with its triumph in the majors division in baseball. Maitum beat Zamboanga City, 9-0, to top the centerpiece Little League Baseball competition and tow the Mindanaoan qualifiers for the National Finals. Host Kiamba swept the three events played in softball even as South Cotabato's juniors and seniors squads ruled the other baseball events. Kiamba's Little League softbelles stamped their class on Aleosan in three games, 8-1, 7-0, 15-3, to cop the mint while their juniors counterparts did the same to their Aleosan rivals, 12-3, 12-0, 6-3, to duplicate their feat. The home team's quest for junior league baseball crown was foiled by South Cotabato, which scored a 10-5 victory in their title duel.
