The two took over mayoral responsibilities for Dhaka South and Dhaka North respectively around two and a half years ago, and Khokon used to treat Annisul ‘as his elder brother’. Khokon said he used to talk to Annisul almost every morning, discuss the development plan of the city and get inspired by each other's work. Mayor Annisul Huq died on Thursday in London fighting a brain blood vessel disease for the last four months.
